Last
Thursday, June 4, at 4:21 p.m., Belleville's newly smoothed Main Street was opened to traffic, after being closed all
day. The street was also closed the previous Monday. Best Asphalt milled out an inch of road surface and replaced it with
a compacted one inch of new asphalt. After striping was done, the roadway was ready. The temporary smoothing was paid for
by the Downtown Development Authority and done in time for next weekend's Strawberry Festival.
Of the 59 Keystone Academy students graduating, 44 spent the final week of
school touring the nation's Capitol.
On June 2, Keystone Academy charter school conducted graduation
ceremonies for 59 eighth-grade students, who will continue their education at other area schools. Keynote speaker was David
Dugger, director of the Early College Alliance at Eastern Michigan University. From left are Sue Meland and Stacy Ziecina,
